This notice explains how personal data is handled for the Currys Black Friday Price Guarantee promotion.

Who is responsible for your data

Currys Group Limited is the data controller for the promotion. Metrisk administers it on Currys' behalf as data processor, handling registration, validation and payment.

What we collect and why

To run the promotion we collect:

• Your name, email address, phone number and postal address — to identify your registration, contact you about it, and confirm eligibility.
• Your purchase details and proof of purchase — to verify what you bought and what you paid.
• Your bank account details — solely to pay a refund where one is due.

The lawful basis is performance of a contract: these are the details without which your registration cannot be assessed or paid.

How long we keep it

Registration data is retained for the duration of the promotion and for 12 months after it closes, so that queries and disputes can be resolved. Bank details are deleted once payment has completed and any recall period has passed.

Who it is shared with

Your data is shared with Currys, and with the payment provider used to make the refund. It is not sold, and it is not used for marketing unless you separately opt in.

Your rights

You may ask for a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected or erased, or object to how it is used. Email privacy@currys-promotions.co.uk and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
